Sam was born with Truncus Arteriosus Type I, he underwent 4
open heart surgeries and a cardiac catheterization. He is
currently on Coumadin and baby aspirin and is a very energetic 10
year-old boy

Treatment:
Sam has had 4 open heart surgeries. The original repair patched
the VSD and put a cryo frozen human valve in the pulmonary. At 6
months, a St Jude's valve was placed in his aorta. At 18 months
both were replaced with porcine valves and just before his 5th
birthday a new St Jude's valve was placed in the aorta and a new
porcine in the pulmonary position.
