Michael

HLHS, DORV, Fontan

Michael

Mikey was born with HLHS and DORV, He had his first surgery at 2 days of age which was the BT Shunt. He spent most of recovery time in the hospital and ended up coming home on an NG tube. At 6 months of age he had the bi-directional Glenn and once again spent most of the recovery time in the hospital. Mikey did well except for very poor weight gain. When it came closer to needing his Fontan Completion, he spent time at the Hospital for Sick Children in Washington DC to help put weight on.

At age 2, Mikey had his Fontan completion and spent a long time in the hospital because of pleural effusions. Once home, Mikey began to thrive and do very well.

Last year Mikey started desaturating. He has now been diagnosed with HLHS, DORV, Asthma, CHF, PLE, Pulmonary Hypertension, Leaky Valve. He is being referred for a Heart / Lung Transplant. His saturations remain low.

— Michele and Troy, Michael's parents, and sister Jessica (Pennsylvania)
