Gina Mehri

Complete AV Canal, repaired at 4 months old.

I had a wonderful, easy 9 month pregnancy. I was a little nervous getting closer because I had a c-section with my first daughter. I really wanted to try for a VBAC this time.

Finally my due date arrived but my little girl wasn't ready to come out yet. A week after my due date I was to go in for an induction. Well, that wasn't to be because Gina decided to finally make an appearance on her own.

I was so thrilled with the birth of our second baby girl and couldn't wait to get home and start our lives as a four person family.

The doc arrived bright and early on her third day of life to give Gina her discharge exam. That was when my world was completely and utterly torn apart. They informed us that our precious, perfect angel had a not so perfect heart.

The next four months were filled with joy and sorrow as we awaited her surgery date. It finally arrived and our little girl was blessed with the perfect surgeon. He did a wonderful job repairing her mitral valve and closing the holes.

Gina has grown into quite a rambunctious child never giving her mom a moments peace. I wouldn't have it any other way.
