Garrison Lawrence

TOF, Complete Repair

Garrison

Garrison was diagnosed with a heart murmur right after birth, but it took two weeks to discover that he had Tetralogy of Fallot. He is our only child and we were scared to death. He was underweight and the doctors decided to wait until he was five months old to perform the surgery.

After the surgery, Garrison got a blood infection that was attacking the heart that was just fixed. He was placed on a pic line and received antibiotics for six weeks. Once the infection was gone, we noticed that a flat spot had formed on the back of his head due to a lack of mobility from the healing process. He was measured and fitted for a helmet which he wore for about four months.

Since then, he has been a healthy, robust baby who loves life and is adored by everyone in our family! He is such a blessing and I thank God every day for the skilled doctors who diagnosed and treated him!

— Brandy and Walt, Garrison's mom and dad (Florida)
