Garett

Congenitally Corrected Transposition, Large VSD, Severe Pulmonary Stenosis

We learned of Garett's congenital heart defect at 20 weeks gestation. He was born 3 weeks early on August 30, 2001 and had surgery to insert a B-T shunt and perform a pulmonary artery unilaterization at the age of 8 days old. Garett remained in the hospital for another 8 days after that and has been thriving ever since. He is now 6 months old. Garett sees his cardiologist every 8 weeks and will need at least one more surgery to close the VSD, replace the shunt and give him a second pumping chamber. He is a beautiful baby boy and is doing wonderfully.
