Emma Nicole

TGA, VSD, pulmonary stenosis (PS)

Our daughter Emma came into our lives on March 25,2005. We didn't know how special she was until 3hrs after birth. Emma was born with TGA, PA, VSD, and pulmonary stenosis. We have been blessed by God to take care of this angel. We were nervous to try for another baby, but her pediatric cardiologist, Dr. Colvin at UAB in Alabama, reassured us that there was a 95% chance that our next child would not have the same defects as Emma. 22 months later we had our son, Ryan, who is heart-healthy. I love to watch them playing. They make our life and I could not imagine it any other way.

April 2007 Update

Emma is now 4 and doing great! She is growing into a little lady and we don't know where all the time has gone!? As far as health goes, she is right where we want to be. We will be going back to the PC in June for her yearly appt. We are not expecting any surgery in the near future, so we can just sit back and breath awhile!! Can you do that with a 4yr old and a 2yr old though??

? Joe and Dana, Emma's parents, and little brother Ryan,2 (North Alabama)
