Cameron Chase was born October 7th 2009 at 11:01 am. His birth weight was 7 pounds and 2 ounces and was 20 and a half inches long with a head full of dark brown hair. We automatically thought he was such a beautiful baby boy.
We Found out at my 21 week level II ultrasound that Cameron would be born with hypoplastic left heart syndrome. We shed a lot of tears that day, wondering if I did something to cause it, or if maybe it was just a fluke. Either way Cameron would be born with a CHD, and we would love him just the same!
Cameron had his hybrid surgery just eight days after he was born, I just knew he would be a fighter then already! He recovered really well from his surgery, the feedings were the challenge.. once the speech therapist worked with Cameron and found him the perfect bottle, he took off from there.
Cameron is just shy of being five months old and now weighs 13 pounds and is 24 inches long, we are getting ready for his Glenn surgery end of March, I am very nervous but I am confident in the surgeons and nurses at the University of Minnesota Amplatz Children's Hospital.
