Alexander Miles

HLHS, Fontan, Balloon Angioplasty

Alex with his Scout Badge and Patrol Badge
Alexander is the child directly in front of Jeff Gordon (2006)
Our little man, Alex, is a spitfire full of energy and love. He's brought more of life's lessons to our family that we could ever dream. Alex was diagnosed about 12 hours after birth and quickly transported to a specialized hospital for heart and lung illnesses. His first two scheduled surgeries and an emergency revision were performed at Deborah Heart and Lung Center by Dr. Marshall Jacobs. His "completion Fontan" was done at St. Christopher's Hospital for Children in northeast Philly.

Alex is now 8 and a busy boy. His greatest thrill was meeting NASCAR driver Jeff Gordon in Nov 2006.

January 2009 Update

Alexander Miles is now 11, and Alex just earned his Scout badge and Patrol badge in Boy Scouts.

— Vicki and Steve, Alexander's parents, and brother Ian Marshall and Zachary Bernard (Wall Township, NJ)
