Memorial Garden

The Memorial Garden was created to honor our "brave warriors" who are no longer with us. We wish to thank their parents for sharing the stories of their precious children, and making them a part of our lives. We hope that you will find comfort in knowing that these beloved children will always be remembered, and will live in our hearts forever.

Devin Lael Dorogi
5/3/97-7/26/97

Devin was born on her grandmother's birthday, with a room full of people who loved her surrounding us (caregivers and family). She was diagnosed with HLHS in utero, and with VCFS when she was three days old. She braved the Norwood Stage 1 surgery at four days old, and came off the vent on Mother's Day 1997 -- one of the best days of my life! We went home later that week and stayed happy and healthy for 9 weeks. She became sick at 2 1/2 months, and we lost her to pneumonia after a long, hard battle. We were able to hold her as she took her last breaths, surrounded by the love she helped create.

In loving memory of my beautiful little girl, Devin. She taught me all there is to know about love, and she showed me what true strength really is. She was very brave through her short life and she fought very hard to stay with us even through the most difficult of times. She touched the lives of so many people and was loved dearly by all her family -- including her caregivers.

Devin, I will always love you sweetie pie and will miss you forever.

Joshua Allen Menssen
5/31/99-6/8/99

Joshua was diagnosed at 22 weeks with HLHS. We tried all that we could to save our precious baby. He was a valiant little boy who kept fighting for his parents' sake. When we were finally ready to accept the fact that he needed to return to heaven, he left us. He is very, very loved and missed more than we could have imagined.
